What is Wellness Coaching?
Wellness coaching is a confidential and supportive partnership between you and your Certified Wellcoach® that motivates behavior change to help you meet your health and wellness vision and goals.
What credentials do you have as a Certified Wellcoach®?
As a Certified Wellcoach®, I received my training and certification through the Wellcoaches School of Coaching, which is endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine. In addition, I am a licensed pharmacist in the states of NJ, MA, and TX, with over 20 years of clinical pharmacy experience.
How does a session with a Wellness Coach differ from other health care provider visits?
In traditional health care provider visits, the provider is the expert and may prescribe treatment. In Wellness Coaching sessions, you are the expert decision maker of your lifestyle priorities and goals. I will help guide you in setting and reaching your goals to improve your overall wellbeing.
What aspects of my life can I address with my coach?
Eating habits and nutrition, stress and weight management, exercise, life satisfaction, energy, mindset, managing health conditions and medications, and spiritual practices are some examples of wellbeing areas that can be discussed with a Wellness Coach.
How does the Wellness Coaching process work?
The process of wellness coaching progresses through several stages:
1. Prior to our first session, you provide me with background information by filling out intake forms and a health questionnaire. This will help both of us become well informed on the key issues, including medical considerations, as appropriate.
2. During the first two 50 minute coaching sessions, we identify your priorities and develop a personal wellness plan including a vision, three month goals and the first steps.
3. In subsequent coaching sessions, we review the progress toward your vision and goals, explore and resolve the most pressing issues, learn something new, and then agree on a set of goals for the following week. You will enjoy plenty of ah-ha insights along the way.
How many sessions will I need with my coach?
There are not a set number of visits; however, meeting on a regular basis will guide you along your path to wellness. All sessions will take place over the telephone for your comfort and convenience.
How long are Wellness Coaching sessions?
The first two coaching sessions are 50 minutes in length. Thereafter, continuing sessions will be either 30 or 50 minutes in length. We will custom tailor session frequency and length to meet your needs.
How will Wellness Coaching bring lasting change?
I partner with you to create your own personal road map towards wellness. I support you in taking a series of “baby steps” that become long-lasting, meaningful changes, which enhance your lifestyle.
